TRANSACTEL Heroes benefit over 1,800 children during their “Day of Giving

San Salvador, November 5th, 2011. For the third time, Transactel alongside TELUS and 1,800 volunteer heroes held their traditional “Day of Giving”, a social event created to have a high impact effect on the education community of El Salvador.

This year, our “Day of Giving” was held at the “Walter A. Soundy” Education Compound in Ciudad Merliot, where the whole team of Transactel`s Heroes dedicated their time and energy voluntarily to improve the school`s infrastructure for more than 1,800 students.

For more than eight hours of hard work, Transactel`s Heroes painted classrooms and murals, worked in the revitalization of the school`s functional areas, gardens, and other activities which will surely create a better learning environment for the students.

Guillermo Montano, CEO of Transactel expressed “We are proud to lead by example and I want to thank all of our Heroes, whom without their help, this project and the Day of Giving wouldn’t have been possible. The Heroes and I continuously commit to having a positive impact on the life of those who surround us, and especially the students of these schools”, Day of Giving is an activity held by Transactel and TELUS every October in every country where they operate and is focused on communities` different needs.
